Summer Bingo = fun outings with kids (2026 Update)

For many families summer started at the end of May. For us, it has been only two weeks! The local Jewish schools end mid to late-June.

For many years, I played Summer Bingo with my boys (or as I liked to call it, Camp Mommy). However, for the past few years, my boys are too old to go on outings and just want to work and earn money. However, I hope that despite my lateness, this post will still be helpful for your summer plans if you have children under 16!

When we did Camp Mommy, I tried to get my boys out of the house at least a few times a week. They sometimes had a few weeks of camp, but mostly they were home with me (since I am a teacher).

Keeping them occupied was not always cheap. So several years ago I researched and created my own Summer Bingo game with various choices of what we could do during the summer and how much each costs. Of course, we spent time at home engaged in various activities, but getting out of the house several times a week was good for everyone!

We had fun each summer trying to complete as many squares on our bingo boards as possible. I like to check off each one, add the date and outing name (if needed), as well as a sticker (Trend Teacher superspot stickers work great for this). The outings with a ♥ were our favorites – excursions we did more than once during the summer! I especially liked to take my kids to as many free programs sponsored by our county library system.

Each year I add any new excursions and take off any that have closed. The second page includes the Key to the color code. I limited the background colors so it will not use up a ton of ink when printing!

Unfortunately, several places on my St. Louis version have closed since my last update:

  • Play Street Museum St. Louis
  • Monkey Joe’s
  • Rockin’ Jump (there seems to be only 1 location in CA now)
