Recycle your ink = Earn money

(updated 3/1/17)

I am always trying to find new ways to throw out less and either recycle, reuse, or give away items. For ink, I used to order prepaid envelopes or find a school that recycled ink as a fundraiser. However, Office Depot OfficeMax has a recycling program to include all ink and toner cartridges. They previously only accepted specific kinds.

You can recycle any types and get money in return. You earn 200 Reward points ($2 in rewards) for each ink or toner cartridge you recycle – up to 10 cartridges per month, when you make a $10 qualifying purchase the same month. You can recycle additional cartridges, but rewards will only be issued on 10. Your rewards can be used for in-store, online, and phone purchases the following quarter after you earn them.

I love the Office Depot OfficeMax Rewards program and have earned so many great rewards and coupons through it. Even if you don’t have a business, there are plenty of great products for home, families, and gifts at OfficeMax. They also have an affordable copy center. They frequently mail coupons to their Rewards members, offer bag discounts in the Sunday paper, and even sometimes have coupons in their sale fliers!

The program currently gives you 10% back on your purchases. Rewards certificates are available on your online account within 30 days after the end of the month for members who have earned at least 1,000 points. Point balances less than 1,000 carry over from month to month through the end of the calendar quarter. Balances of less than 1,000 points expire at the end of each quarter. 1,000 points = $10 gift card/rewards.

Office Depot OfficeMax is also my favorite place for school supply shopping. Check out how I spend very little each year on school supplies – School Supply Shopping Strategy
